Pike Heritage Museum Seeks Photography Submissions For County Calendar

Article Presented By Scioto Valley Dumpsters, LTD…

(Waverly) – Each year the Pike Heritage Museum publishes a calendar to raise funds for operations. After more than thirty years of publishing period photographs, the museum is trying something different.

“We want to solicit photographs from our talented, homegrown photographers. If interested, we ask that you submit 3-4 digital photographs that we could publish in a commemorative calendar to benefit the museum”, according to Pike Heritage Museum President Bruce Overly.

Here are some suggestions for submissions:

  •   Be of a recognizable Pike County subject or event (i.e. festival, parade, fair, concert, etc.).
  •   Doesn’t have to include an historical building, but would be great if some do
  •   Can be photo edited for affect (use vour creative juices!).
  •   Use of various natural settings encouraged (i.e. autumn, snow, rain, sunsets, wildlife, etc.).

“For the participating photographers we would like to include a short biography, contact information for reprints, and a personal photograph. We ask that digital submissions be sent to the email listed below. The images do not have to be from this year, just taken by you. We would appreciate a sentence or two describing the photograph (what and where). Your original images will not be used for any other purpose.”

Overly concluded- “We are excited to feature the beauty of Pike County through the eyes of our local artists. Please have submissions emailed by September 10, 2023”, said Overly.
